The Department of Information Technology at Zeal College of Engineering and Research, Pune was established in 2007 offering a Four Year B.E. Program in Information Technology. Prime objective of the Department is to provide students with life long learning and leadership skills that enable them to grow in their professions and advance them to better positions in the IT industry.

Students are provided with various in house skill development programs as per industrial requirements through different Centers for Excellence. The department has established Big Data Center of Excellence, Software Testing & quality Assurance Center of Excellence, Cyber Security Center of Excellence, Free and Open Source Software Center of Excellence, Microsoft Imagine Academy with the motive of student Skill Development, Project Development, Research and Consultancy activities.

The Department is associated with International Software Testing Qualification Board, Hortonworks University-USA, Palo Alto Networks-USA; Asian School of Cyber Laws, Spoken Tutorial IIT Bombay, Amazon Web Services Educate, DELL EMC for knowledge transfer and International Certification programs.
