Students In plant Training
A Student training program on BASIC METROLOGY which was organized by “ADVANCE MEASURING SYSTEM”, Kolhapur in Dec 2019
To bridge the gap between industry and institute, students have to participate in industry program. By considering this, 14 students from third year mechanical engineering have participated in a training program on “BASIC METROLOGY” at AMS Kolhapur. Experts trained the students on all advanced metrological instruments along with Geometrical dimensions & tolerance with more case studies in measurement. This program was organized under an MoU signed with AMS Kolhapur as a part of industry-institute interaction. The same training program was organized from 11 to 13 December 2019 and the fee for the same training program was Rs. 2000/- per student, which included morning and afternoon tea and lunch at noon, certificate and CD as work material. AMS provided accommodation facility to students in AMS campus at no cost for 3 days.
On day 1 introduction to metrology and all instruments were covered theoretically and practical sessions were held on the second day. All instruments were demonstrated in the Demo room which is widely used across industry. Importance of calibration and maintenance of instruments were also discussed. AMS also manufactures limit gauges (GO- NO GO) gauges. While manufacturing of these gauges, how work tolerance and wear allowance is considered were discussed. AMS has an NABL accredited calibration lab. Students also visited the calibration laboratory on the third day.
CAD - Hands on Training
On “CATIA- V-5R19” under Zeal CADCAM CAE Excellence Center, in Jan 2020
Hands on Training Sessions were arranged for S.E Students in CAD design domains so as to increase the job oriented skills amongst the students. The curriculum for hands on training was developed by the academic and Industry experts, educational objectives are specified to provide clear information of the knowledge and aspects of practice where competency acquired by the trainee will be assessed. Assessment of competencies is structured to reflect the pathway of learning required throughout the training period. 50 interested students had participated in the training program and have benefited through upgraded knowledge and a certification.
The training covered the various domains starting from
- 2D Sketcher
- 3D Part modeling
- Drafting & Detailing
- Surface modeling
- Assembly design
Along with the theoretical concepts of blue print reading. As the top most priority in the industry CATIA- V5 R19 software was selected for training and 48 hrs of dedicated time was allotted to the students, which was distributed into 3 hours daily and 1 hour of session and 2 hours of lab practice following the same. For evaluation, a written test was conducted on engineering drawing and a CAD test on software at the end of the program.
CAM - Hands on Training
On “CAM – CNC & VMC Programming on Master CAM-X9” under Zeal CADCAM CAE Excellence Center, in Dec 2019
Hands on Training Sessions were arranged for B.E Students in CAM domains. The target was to develop a an ideal machining shop floor workshop engineers having an awareness of various machining process, operation, cutting tools required, manual part programming, software based part programming, Do- NC simulators, machine tool offset and all shop floor requirements. Total 60 interested students had participated in the training program and have benefited through hands on skills and certification.
The training covered the various domains starting from
- Basics of Machining
- Manual Part Programming
- G & M Codes
- Programming using Master CAM-X 9 software
- Do NC - Simulator
- Actual Machine control Panel Operation
Along with the theoretical concepts of machining and manual part programming, industry software i.e. Master CAM-X9 was used for training and 52 hrs of dedicated time was allotted towards the students, which was distributed into 3 hours daily and 1 hours of session and 2 hours of lab practice following the same. For evaluation, a written test & practical exam was conducted on CAM software and Do NC Simulator.
CAE - Hands on Training
On “CAE – Analysis on ANSYS-19” under Zeal CADCAM CAE Excellence Center, in Dec 2019
This course focuses on practical workshops combined with tutorial sessions in order to give practical advice and useful experience in order to create analysis efficiently and effectively, understanding the process for offshore design using ANSYS Mechanical. ANSYS training course aims to explain the basics of ANSYS, Finite Element Modeling (FEM), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The curve of learning will elevate from various stages, which includes pre-processor, solution, and post-processor. The course will also explain on ways to conduct advanced structural analysis that is also described in hands-on sessions.
The training covered the various domains starting from
General Pre-processing, Contact and Meshing
- Static Structural
- Modal, Steady State Thermal
- Linear Buckling, Post Processing
- Use CAD and run parameter studies
Along with the theoretical concepts of CAE and basics of CFD, Ansys-19 was used for training and 50 hrs of dedicated time was allotted towards the students, which was distributed into 3 hrs daily and 1 hrs of session and 2 hrs of lab practice followed by the same.
