Introduction:

As part of the Computer Aided Design of Electrical Machines course, we visited a X Trans Enterprises on 11/04/2026 located at Dhayarigaon, Pune- 411041. Maharashtra, India. The purpose of this visit was to gain practical knowledge about the manufacturing, design and operation of transformers. During the visit, we accompanied by Mr. Nikhil Gaikwad, who provided valuable insights and explanations about the transformer components and its assembly. The visit lasted for 2 Hour, during which we had the opportunity to observe the various parts of transformer, cooling system, Core and winding manufacturing.

Need of visit:

  1. Bridging Theory and Practice
To connect classroom concepts of machine design with real industrial implementation.
  2. Understanding Manufacturing Techniques
To observe actual processes involved in fabrication, winding, insulation, and assembly of electrical machines.
  3. Exposure to Industrial Equipment
To familiarize students with modern tools, machinery, and technologies used in industry.
  4. Learning Practical Design Constraints
To understand real-world factors like cost, efficiency, size, cooling, and safety in machine design.
  5. Awareness of Standards and Quality Control
To learn about industrial standards (IS/IEC) and testing procedures followed in manufacturing.
  6. Enhancing Technical Knowledge
To strengthen subject understanding through visual and practical exposure.
  7. Industry-Academia Interaction
To reduce the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
  8. To provide insight into job roles and opportunities in electrical machine design and manufacturing.
