MATLAB Orientation Program by MATH WORKS

Name of Resource Person: Ankit Kumar, Application Engineer MATH WORKS

Target Participants: SY Electrical Engineering Students

Number of Beneficiaries: 48 Students

Venue : C210 Classroom, Department of Electrical Engineering, ZCOER, Narhe, Pune.

Time: 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM

Overview:

The Department of Electrical Engineering of Zeal Education Society’s Zeal College of Engineering and Research, Narhe, Pune organized a MATLAB Orientation Program in collaboration with Math Works on 5th March 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM in Classroom C210. The objective of the session was to introduce students to MATLAB software and its importance in engineering education, simulation, data analysis, and research applications. The expert speaker, Mr. Ankit Kumar, Application Engineer at Math Works, delivered the orientation session and explained the importance of MATLAB in electrical engineering applications. He introduced students to the MATLAB environment, basic commands, and demonstrated how MATLAB can be used for Numerical computation, algorithm development, data visualization, and system simulation. During the session, students learned about practical applications of MATLAB in electrical engineering such as signal processing, control systems, power system analysis, and model-based design. The speaker also highlighted how MATLAB skills are widely used in industries, research organizations, and academic projects. The session was interactive and students actively participated by asking questions regarding MATLAB usage in their academic curriculum and project work.

Key Points Discussed in the Session:

  • Introduction to MATLAB software and its interface.
  • Importance of MATLAB in engineering education and industry.
  • Basic MATLAB commands and programming concepts.
  • Applications of MATLAB in electrical engineering problems and simulations.
  • Role of MATLAB in research, project development, and data analysis.
  • Student Email IDs:

The solution shared for generating the students’ email IDs should now be workable. As per my own understanding, I request you to communicate further in this regard to Mr. Vishal Jagdale, as he might be able to help in this matter as I mentioned during our conversation.

  • MathWorks Account Creation:

Once the students receive their institute email IDs, the next step will be for all of them to create their MathWorks accounts, as explained to the SE students.

Outcome of the Program:

  • Students gained awareness about MATLAB and its applications in engineering.
  • Students understood the importance of simulation tools in electrical engineering.
  • Students were encouraged to use MATLAB for academic projects and research work.
  • The program enhanced students’ interest in computational and simulation tools
