MECHANICAL PGCON 2017 (DESIGN, CAD-ME, MECHATRONICS)

MECHPGCON 2017, The Mechanical Engineering Post Graduate conference was held at “ZEAL COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & RESEARCH, NARHE, PUNE on 20th and 21st June 2017. MECHPGCON 2017, is the third PG conference organized for Design, CADME and Mechatronics specializations in Mechanical Engineering. This conference was organized by Zeal college of Engineering & Research, Narhe, Pune in collaboration with the Board of Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

The MECHPGCON- 2017 is an opportunity for all the post graduate students in mechanical engineering to showcase their project work. The conference aims for interaction of PG students with faculty members and industry experts for the empowerment of the PG students.

The inauguration of MECHPGCON 2017 was held on 20th June at Zeal college of engineering and research, Dr. A.D. Shaligram, Registrar, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Dr. S.E. Talole, Dean ( Technology) D.I.A.T, Pune were  the chief guests . Dr. P.J. Awasare, Ex-coordinator BOS SPPU, Prof. Jayesh Katkar (Executive Director, Zeal Education Society), Dr. Sanjay Deokar (Campus Director, Narhe Campus), Dr. Ajit Kate (Principal, ZCOER), Dr. Sunil Dambhare ( Conference Secretary) and Dr. Amol Ubale (Head Mechanical) were also present at the event.

During his address to the gathering Dr. A.D.Shaligram urged the PG students to be observant towards the surrounding, identify simple problems and find solutions through research. In this way the research work carried out by the students will not remain restricted to books instead it will be implemented in real life. Also Dr. S.E. Talole said that the need of the hour is the young innovators should focus on gaining over all knowledge instead of concentrating only on domain specific knowledge.
Prof. Jayesh Katkar, Executive director gave best wishes for the conference. Dr. Ajit Kate, Principal presented an overview of the progress of the institute. The comparing of the event was done by Prof. Harakare and Prof. Borade. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. S.G. Dambhare.

More than 800 post graduate students from all over Pune University participated in MECH PGCON2017. 200 expert academicians from Mechanical engineering and eminent personalities from the industries were the reviewers. Total 777 research papers were presented at the conference.
