The Department of Civil Engineering at Zeal College of Engineering, Pune, recently held a guest lecture for 51 SY B.Tech students. The talk, titled “Use of Solar Energy – Towards Sustainable Approach,” featured two experts from Arbutus Consultant: Mr. Chaitnya Abhyankar and Mr. Nilesh Yadav.

What the students learned:

  1. How Solar Works: Simple explanations of solar panel technology and how they turn sunlight into power.
  2. Installation Basics: How to check a site, fix panels securely to roofs (structural mounting), and connect them to the power grid.
  3. Theory vs. Practice: The speakers showed how classroom lessons are actually used in the real world, focusing on safety and professional standards.

The Goal: The session helped students understand how to move away from traditional electricity toward sustainable, green energy, giving them a head start on the practical skills needed in the modern engineering industry
