Expert lecture conducted on topic “Condition monitoring techniques used in thermal power plant”
An expert lecture on Condition monitoring techniques used in thermal power plant was organized by the department of mechanical engineering shift – I for the student of BE. Mr. Hemant Bari (Senior Manager, MTP Dept, Condition Monitoring Cell, Reliance Infrastructure, Dahanu Thermal Power Station) has successfully conducted Expert Lecture for the final year student for the subject Dynamics of Machinery on topic “Condition monitoring techniques used in thermal power plant”. The students of B.E. (Div. A, Div. B, and Div. C,) were present for this session and the session was very interesting and interactive. Mr. Hemant Bari explores the importance of condition monitoring techniques used in thermal power plant and the various case studies analyzed at Dahanu thermal power station. The session were very useful from exam point of view for the student which gives the knowledge of fundamentals of vibrations and methodology to solve complex problems related to Power Plant usig condition based maintenance.
Topics discussed during program:
- Introduction of Dahanu Thermal Power Station.
- Condition Monitoring Techniques, Vibration monitoring, Thermography, Lubricant analysis, Acoustic analysis.
- Vibration Analysis Technique applied at DTPS to check condition of following critical machines:
- Case Studies of PA Fan, Locomotive Engine, BFP
