Industrial Visit of Final Year Students held at Balgandharva Rang Mandir, Pune

As a part of industrial visit of Pune University curriculum for the subject, HVACR, we had successfully visited, Balgandharva Rang Mandir, Pune on 7th Oct, 2025. This was good opportunity for the students to interact with industrial experts and understanding the practical knowledge of engineering.

The industrial visit to the Central Air Conditioning Plant provided valuable practical exposure to the working principles and components of large-scale HVAC systems. Students gained insights into the operation of chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, compressors, and ducting systems. They understood the refrigeration cycle, energy efficiency measures, and control mechanisms used in central air conditioning systems. The visit helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial applications, enhancing students’ understanding of thermal systems and maintenance practices used in modern HVAC industries. Total 53 students of  B.E. Div-A were presents for this visit.

This industrial visit was very useful for the students and teachers from knowledge point of view.

Outcomes of Industrial Visit to Central Air Conditioning Plant:

  1. Understood the working principle and layout of a central air conditioning system.
  2. Observed various components such as chillers, compressors, condensers, AHUs, and cooling towers.
  3. Gained knowledge of the refrigeration and heat exchange processes involved.
  4. Learned about different types of refrigerants and their environmental impact.
  5. Understood the role of ducting and air distribution systems in maintaining indoor air quality.
  6. Observed automation and control systems used for temperature and humidity regulation.
  7. Learned about energy efficiency practices and maintenance procedures in HVAC systems.
  8. Enhanced awareness of safety measures followed during operation and maintenance.
  9. Connected theoretical concepts of thermodynamics and heat transfer with practical applications.
  10. Developed an understanding of real-world challenges and modern trends in HVAC industries.
