ASHRAE is a team that provides abundant opportunities to learn, teach, mentor, and share top quality legal advice. A team that enables us to advocate, brainstorm, give back to our communities, meet, network and socialize with friends and colleagues all over the country and world.

I consider the main role of Student Branch Advisor (SBA) is to assist ASHRAE students in planning, organizing, and improving the operation of their student to uplift their knowledge in the field of technology. It is intended to serve as a guide and with certain exceptions, such as directives based on society rules, free to amplify and modify the suggestions to suit their various needs.

Cooperation and communication between the students, advisor, sponsoring chapter, and Society headquarters is vital to the overall effectiveness of the branch. It is important that the student branch maintain effective communication through its local, sponsoring chapter.

Establishing a student branch is easy and the rewards are great. All you need is a minimum of 10 student members, a faculty member who is interested in being the Student Branch Advisor; they can take the support of your local ASHRAE chapter and Regional head.

Finally, I’d like to give a special shout-out of appreciation to our Regional Chapter head and President ASHRAE Pune Chapter and to the ASHRAE organization for all the resources, guidance and support they provide each and every day.
