Department of Mechanical Engineering from Zeal College of Engineering and Research organized 2 days national conference from 16th February 2018 to 17th February 2018.
Mr.Anil Gavade Vice President Business Development & Strategy (Aryan Pumps & Enviro Solutions Pvt. Limited, Narhegaon Pune) was the chief guest and Prof. Dr. Sanjay Deokar, Campus Director, Zeal Education Society was the guest of honour. Dr. S. D. Pohekar key note speaker of function was also present for the inaugural function.
Dr. C. L. Prabhune Convener of the conference has given the introduction about the conference, schedule of the program. During the inaugural function Mr. Anil Gavade enlightened the participants with the upcoming research and innovative ideas being worked out in the research institutes and industries. He has shared his experience in the field of sustainable development. Prof. Dr. Sanjay Deokar expressed his willingness to use this conference as platform for bridging the gap between recent practices in industry and academic curriculum. He told that the zeal campus will very soon, will be a green campus as college has installed 145kW capacity solar phovoltaic panels to generate self sufficient electric power. Dr. Prof. S. G. Dambhare, H.O.D Mechanical proposed the vote of thanks.
Key note Speaker, Dr. S. D. Pohekar ( Head research, Symbiosis International University, Lavale, Pune) delivered his speech on sustainable development, particularly on fuel cell development for automotives. How the fuel cell technology is useful in near future, he elaborated well. There was very good interaction among the participants with him during the session.
Post Lunch session was the paper presentation. There were four parallel tracks for conducting the paper presentation. For each track the session Chair and co-chair were invited from well known institutes and also from industries. Every one has evaluated the paper and gave the suggestions to the presenter. The participants had also taken it positively for their further improvement in the work. Mr. Avinash Chabukswar Director, C-Tech Engineers Pvt. Limited, Pune chaired the session. Dr. Pangavane D.R. and Dr. Sonawane S.A. from Govt. College of engineering Avasari chaired the session.
Next day on 17th Feb. also four parallel tracks for conducting the paper presentations were planned. Eminent personalities from various institutes were invited as session chair. They shared their thoughts with the participants and gave valuable suggestions for their research work. Dr. Atul Borade, Dr. Chaudhari Rajendra, Dr. Patange Gajanan, Dr. Abhay Pawar were few of them.
The participants had presented their innovative work, case studies, reviews and some industrial applications and social impacts through their papers. Overall the papers covered most of the areas of sustainable developments in the field of mechanical engineering. Students were benefitted by listing to the upcoming trends and expressed their willingness to explore these areas during their undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. research work. During the 2 days of workshop Prof. Ashutosh Mungle and Prof. Poonam Harakare coordinated all the sessions. This was first national conference organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering ZCOER Pune it was well received by all the stake holders as a successful event. All faculty members had put whole hearted efforts to make this conference a success.
