Information technology in India is an industry consists of two major components: IT services and business process outsourcing (BPO). It is projected to contribute 10% to the national GDP in the year 2025 which indicates the potential the sector holds for the students graduating with a degree in I.T. Engineering. The sector currently employs over 10 million all over India and this figure is set to rise given the rapid advancements in technology and the subsequent rise in demand for skilled professionals.

I.T. and related services form the backbone of all the sectors in the economy which further broadens the scope for the students who enter the workforce each year. Newly emerging trends & technologies like cloud computing, mobile applications, social media & data analytics further widens opportunities in this sector. The top-class infrastructure at the Information Technology Department of Zeal College of Engineering and Research ensures the students stay up-to-date with the latest trends and apply it to gain the maximum from their education. The conducive academic environment with a strong emphasis on practical applications ensures the students walk out of the College with not just a strong base of the subject but also knowledge on how to apply it to solve real-world problems and use one’s education to the full potential. In a similarcontext, the Department of Information Technology has collaborated with Microsoft Imagine Academy, Software Testing & Quality Assurance Center of Excellence, FOSS Center of Excellence, and Zeal Cyber Cell among many others to ensure the students never lose touch with the trending technologies and stay updated at all times, thus making them ready to enter the world of work with an air of confidence and self-assurance.
