Parent – Teacher Meeting

Electrical Engineering Department organized a parent-teacher meeting on Saturday,20th  July 2019  in Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Auditorium. The meeting started at 11.00 am. Many Parents reported for the meet and have given their feedback for improvement. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Pradip Khandave Hon. Executive Director, Dr. A Kate Principal & Dr. A. A. Khandekar  HOD Electrical Engineering.

Agenda of the meeting

  • Discussion on analysis of Students done by conducting online test.
  • Discussion on importance of improvement in student’s attitude, Behavior and communication skills for improving placements.
  • Discussion of effect of less attendance on marks.
  • Discussion about Role of parents to invest their time on students.
  • To focus importance of Credits to be earned in respective years.
  • Information of new facilities like Life Skills , Japanese Language classes, Python Courses, MOU with two Foreign Universities , Energy conservation unit installed in Campus
  • To showcase on students progress in interdisciplinary projects.

Proceedings of the meeting

Mr. Pradip Khandave Hon. Executive Director Sir welcome parents and explained main motive of parents meet. He explained that gap between teaching facilities and parents should be bridged and both should come on same platform for betterment of students. Student’s attitude, Behavior and communications skills should be improved for best placement results and college is conducting activities like Life skills for this improvement in students. Parents should not support for absenteeism of students because results are directly proportional to attendance of students.

Dr. A M Kate Principal Sir, addressed parents by new activities carried out for student’s placement in our college. He explained importance of Japanese language certification course to acquire jobs in Japan also Python Language course for all disciplines. His future told that for students and Faculties College have done MOU with two foreign Universities. He also told about 120KW solar plant for energy conservation installed at our campus for which college got award. He also told that students should focus on interdisciplinary project by giving example of BATMAN car, solar vehicles, & solar bikes.

Prof. Viraj Barge Training and Placement coordinator Sir, gave information of companies visited our college and there requirement in terms of Percentage for students placements. He informed parents that student should get 60% throughout to appear for Multinational companies. Beside this entrepreneurship Courses are also conducted in campus. Planning’s for GRE and Toffel classes for abroad studies will also be soon conducted in college.

Dr. A. A. Khandekar HOD Electrical addressed parents and explained parents regarding credit system. He explained importance of achieving maximum credits in first & second year.

He informed parents that students are not in position to attend lectures continuously for 6 hours, so more efforts are expected to be taken by students. He also told parents to take responsibility of students to send them college. 

Questions / suggestions by parents

  • Parents suggested that mobile phones should be strictly prohibited in college campus.
  • Parents enquired about attendance.

The queries related to the functioning of department were addressed by the chair. Further, he assured the parents that their queries beyond the purview of department would be discussed with Principal for better outcome.

Shiv Jayanti

This year “Shiv Jayanti” was celebrated on February 19th and also Traditional Day in ZES’ ZCOER. The response was simply amazing with nearly 90% of the students and the staff turning up in traditional attires, representing different cultures. It was a welcome change for all the departments, who looked wonderful in the colourful sarees, sherwanis, kurtas, etc. In this event all SE, TE, BE students were actively participated.

Hands on Training

Hands on Training organized by Department of Electrical Engineering (A.Y. 2019-20)

  • Dr. A.A. Khandekar, HOD, Electrical department initiated the thought process to cultivate the employability quality into the students of Electrical Engineering of ZES’s Zeal College of Engineering and Research, Narhe, Pune-41
  • Mr. Vishal L. Tathe with guidance of Dr. A.A. Khandekar and Principal Dr. A.M. Kate and support of Management organized a 10 days’ workshop on “Hands on Training on Three Phase Transformer Design and Three Phase Induction Motor Design” with a view develop practical approach among the students.
  • The workshop was conducted by Mr. Vishal L. Tathe, Mr. Satya Prakash, Mr. Bhushan Kunure & Mr. Ranjit Zende (Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering). The outcome of this workshop will make students capable to get employed in the atmosphere of tough competition in market as well as this workshop focused on entrepreneurship skills of students. Along with hardware skills of motor Designing. This workshop is organized for 10 days (3rd Feb. to  7th Feb., 2020 for TE-B & 10th Feb. to  14th Feb., 2020  TE-A students)
  • Mr. Vishwas Patil (Owner Global Consultancy Services) were invited as a chief guest for the Inauguration ceremony.

This hands-on session covers basic concepts, design aspects, material selection and market survey and its assembly, testing & its applications in various areas.

Objective:
To enhance practical knowledge related to different subjects
To develop hardware skills such as soldering, winding etc.
To increase ability for analysis and testing.
To give an exposure to market survey for available components
To develop an ability for proper documentation of experimentation.
To enhance employability of a student.
To prepare students for working on different hardware projects.

Hands-on session “Transformer Design”

The hands-on training is intended only for Electrical engineering students to explore the impact of Designing of Transformer as transformer is “Heart of Electrical Engineering”. This hands-on training session fills the gap between theory and practical application. It doesn’t matter how much natural talent an engineer posses, student can still improve their skills by practicing which is one of the advantage of hands on training. Training programs are more beneficial when they provide an opportunity for practicing skills. This hands-on session covers basic concepts, design aspects, material selection and market survey and its assembly, testing & its applications in various areas.

Traditional Day 2016

Energy Audit and Conservation

An expert guest lecture on “Energy Audit and Conservation” was organised by Dr. Sanjay A. Deokar, HOD Electrical Department, Vice Principal, ZES’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and Research, Pune for the final year students of Electrical Engineering. Mr. A.N. Buva, M.Tech IIT Bombay, Certified Energy auditor and Project head for cluster energy management ( Kolhapur ) was invited as a guest.

SMART TECHNOLOGIES FOR SMART CITIES

                  This event was held at Sakal International Learning Center (SILC) on 23rd and 24th Jan 2016. More than 300+ students registered for this grand learning fest.

For this fest 42 students registered from Electrical department of Zeal College Of Engineering and Research.

This program successfully completed its two days learning workshop with IT experts from various IT industries like L&T IT Wipro many more.

Workshop on Electrical Motor Re-winding & Auto-Cad

  • Dr. Sanjay A. Deokar, HOD and Vice-Principal, Electrical department initiated the thought process to cultivate the employability quality into the students of Electrical Engineering of ZES’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and research, Narhe, Pune-41
  • Prof. Nachiket A. Kulkarni with guidance of Dr. Sanjay A. Deokar and Principal Dr. A.N. Gaikwad and support of Management organized ” A 10 days’ workshop on Electrical Motor Re-winding & Auto-Cad ” with a view develop practical approach among the students.
  • The workshop was conducted by Mr. Prakash P. Shah, Proprietor, ArnVidyut. Mr Shah has an experience of 45 years in the relevant field. The outcome of this workshop will make students capable to get employed in the atmosphere of tough competition in market as well as this workshop focused on entrepreneurship skills of students. Along with hardware skills of motor rewinding, Software skill of using Auto-Cad is also embedded this year eying the industry demand of Design Engineers with Auto-Cad skills. This workshop is organized for 10 days from 6th Jan to 16th Jan 2014.
  • Mr. A.N. Buva, M.Tech IIT Bombay, Certified Energy Auditor were invited as a chief guest for the Inauguration ceremony.

Student Chapter is inaugurated under Institute of Engineers (India)

Zeal Education Society’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and Research, Pune (DCOER) was established in June 2007 which symbolized the beginning of a new era in technical education. The college has been approved by Zeal Education Society’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and Research, Department of Electrical Engineering initiated students’ Chapter under Institution of Engineers, Pune.The Inauguration ceremony held on
12th February, 2015, 2pm in Seminar Hall of Electrical Engineering Department. This step towards students’ chapter was encouraged with the kind support of Hon. Executive Director, Zeal Education Society, Mr. Jayesh Katkar.

Principal Dr. A.N. Gaikwad initiated the thought process of all the audience present. Head of Department of Electrical Engineering Prof. S. M. Kulkarni triggered the students’ intellectual thinking and motivated them to contribute in nation building as an engineer of future.

Er. V.N. Shinde, Secretary IEI students’ chapter, Pune introduced the students about the Institution of Engineers. Er. D.B. Dhone, former Secretary IEI students’ chapter, Pune explained about various benefits and activities under Institution of Engineers. The students’ chapter benefits its members to access for IEI library, IEI guest houses all over India, research funding and many more facilities very much essential for engineers to update and enhance their knowledge. Chief Guest Mr. Shantanu Dixit, Prayas Energy Group delivered an expert lecture on Energy and Development of India”. Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni, Power Quality Consultant shared his valuable knowledge with students.

The students’ chapter was conveyed by Prof. Nachiket Kulkarni, Electrical Department. Prof. Aditi Deshpande,Faculty advisor organized overall process of student membership for IEI, Pune.   Read More….

Advances in Power Electronics & its Application in Smart Grid

Department of Electrical Engineering of Zeal Education Society’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and Research, Pune organized a national level workshop on “Advances in Power Electronics & its Application in Smart Grid” during 6-10th January, 2015 in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU).
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Sonawane, Former Member , Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory commission(MERC) and Dr. Geetanjali Vaidya, BOS Chairman Electrical Engg.SPPU.
Fifty participants from all over India participated in this National Level Workshop. Eminent speakers from diverse field of technology like from academics Dr. S.S. Dambhare (COEP, Pune), Dr. Amitkumar Jain (IIT Delhi), Dr. B.E. Kushare (KKWCER, Nashik), from power sector, Mr. Vijay Sonawane, (Former Member MERC), Mr. U.G. Zalte (Former Director,Mahatransco), from industries Dr. Ajit Ghodke (Schneider Electric, Bangalore)  were invited to guide the participants. One day plant visit was scheduled to TATA Solar Power Plant, Mulashi, Pune and two hands on lab sessions were conducted in the workshop.
