Emerging Technologies for SMART City and Skill Development

In Zeal College of Engineering and Research Civil Engineering Department we are giving field exposer to our students so that they should be up to date with emerging trends in construction field. As a part of this activity we have organized a visit to Constro 2016 an International level exhibition to explore the emerging technologies and know how regarding new skill sets required for civil engineering graduate.

Hands on Training

Zeal College of Engineering and Research is one of the best engineering college in pune having excellent infrastructure and dynamic environment. Here we are not restricting our students to academics only but we are giving them hands on training on various techniques of building construction like giving layout, Centre line, reading professional structural design drawings and implementing it by actually constructing the reinforcement and form wok required for it from field experts.

Training on ‘Simulation using Simufact’

In a continuous endeavour to impart practical knowledge to the Students of ME (CADME & Design) and Faculties of mechanical Engineering Department, the Department has organised Training on ‘Simulation using Simufact’. The schedule was from 28th to 30th January, 2016.
Simufact Engineering GmbH is a leading global provider of metal-forming simulation software, training, support and services with nearly 650 customers worldwide. Headquartered in Hamburg, Simufact Engineering works collaboratively with companies to deliver open solutions that help them turn more ideas into successful products.

This program was scheduled for Three Days with:
• Explanation of GUI
• Process setting up methodology
• Example of hot forging and cold forming.
• Demos & Examples
As informed by the students and faculties, who attended this course, it was adding to the knowledge and enabling them to use this software for their further research work.
College had fully sponsored this course for the benefit of the students and the faculty members.
The resource person for the said training was Mr Vikramjeet Singh from M/s Kadkraft, Chandigarh and co-ordinatd by Prof. J . K. Shaikh, PG Coordinator (CADME).

Energy Audit and Conservation

An expert guest lecture on “Energy Audit and Conservation” was organised by Dr. Sanjay A. Deokar, HOD Electrical Department, Vice Principal, ZES’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and Research, Pune for the final year students of Electrical Engineering. Mr. A.N. Buva, M.Tech IIT Bombay, Certified Energy auditor and Project head for cluster energy management ( Kolhapur ) was invited as a guest.


                  This event was held at Sakal International Learning Center (SILC) on 23rd and 24th Jan 2016. More than 300+ students registered for this grand learning fest.

For this fest 42 students registered from Electrical department of Zeal College Of Engineering and Research.

This program successfully completed its two days learning workshop with IT experts from various IT industries like L&T IT Wipro many more.

Road Safety Week

One of the best engineering college in Pune under the Zeal Education Society organized the Road Safety Week at its Narhe campus. This year the road safety week was observed between January 13 to 15, where the theme was “Road Safety – Time for Action”.

The week started with “Run for Safety” rally from Sarasbaug to Shaniwarwada where more than 300 students participated and took the oath to adhere to traffic rules.

“Problem of traffic is the most critical issue in Pune which is aiming for Smart City”, the organizers said. The students supported the traffic police at 50 major traffic junctions in the city.

To address the problem of scarcity of blood in various hospitals and blood banks, a mega blood donation rally was organized in association with Akshay blood bank. A total of 1057 blood bottles were collected. The Zeal Education Society also distributed free helmets to students to ensure their safety.

A quiz on road safety rules was also organized. All the activities were supported by deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Sarang Awad, regional transport officer Jeetendra Patil, social activist Pradeep Niphadkar, and senior officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation.

All the staff members and students from E&TC department took participation in the program.

Industrial Visit Bangalore

Electronics and Telecommunication department of Zeal college of Engineering organized a four day Industrial visit to Bangalore from 11 Jan 2016 to 14 Jan 2016 (2 days travelling) which had in total 44 students from Second year and third year E&TC Department accompanied by 2 staff members namely Prof. Priyanka. B. Bhor and Prof. Pawan Ingale. The arrangement of accommodation for all the students and staff was done at a 3 star Hotel namely Himalaya by Monarch Hotel. The various points covered n the trip were

  • India electronics week, held at BIEC, Bangalore International Electronics Center.

The students got an insight of how industries work, what are the different kind of products manufactured, such as leds, motors, transformers etc, what type of vendor customer relationship is to be maintained, Internet of things based products, PCB layout and drilling automation tools etc.

Day 1: Travelling departure from Pune to Bangalore by AC VOLVOMULTI AXEL Bus at 4:30 PM.

Day 2: Arrival Bangalore at 7:00 am. Hotels check in and then breakfast. After breakfast visit to EXPO. From there visited the ISKCON temple and back to hotels and did shopping. Had dinner and took rest.

Day 3: Visited lal bagh garden following a visit to Science museum. The last destination was the snow city after which we left for Pune at around 8:00 pm.

Day 4: Arrival at Pune 1:00pm

Workshop on Electrical Motor Re-winding & Auto-Cad

  • Dr. Sanjay A. Deokar, HOD and Vice-Principal, Electrical department initiated the thought process to cultivate the employability quality into the students of Electrical Engineering of ZES’s Dnyanganga College of Engineering and research, Narhe, Pune-41
  • Prof. Nachiket A. Kulkarni with guidance of Dr. Sanjay A. Deokar and Principal Dr. A.N. Gaikwad and support of Management organized ” A 10 days’ workshop on Electrical Motor Re-winding & Auto-Cad ” with a view develop practical approach among the students.
  • The workshop was conducted by Mr. Prakash P. Shah, Proprietor, ArnVidyut. Mr Shah has an experience of 45 years in the relevant field. The outcome of this workshop will make students capable to get employed in the atmosphere of tough competition in market as well as this workshop focused on entrepreneurship skills of students. Along with hardware skills of motor rewinding, Software skill of using Auto-Cad is also embedded this year eying the industry demand of Design Engineers with Auto-Cad skills. This workshop is organized for 10 days from 6th Jan to 16th Jan 2014.
  • Mr. A.N. Buva, M.Tech IIT Bombay, Certified Energy Auditor were invited as a chief guest for the Inauguration ceremony.
