short term training programme on fluid mechanics

The short term training programme on fluid mechanics was organized by department of mechanical engineering from 11th to 15th December 2017.
The inauguration function of the programme was conducted on 11th December in the morning session in the presence of the Principal Dr. A M. Kate. Dr, Arup Kumar Das from IIT Roorkee was the chief guest for the function. Dr. S. G. Dambhare HOD Mechanical gave the brief idea about the programme and welcomes the chief guest as well as the participants, who came from various institutes. There was overwhelming response for the programme. The vote of thanks proposed by Dr. A. B. Ubale, Coordinator of STTP.

Free Eye Checkup camp

We the Department of Information Technology organized a Free Eye Checkup camp at department as a part of Social Activity under Information Technology Student Association (ITSA ) Dr.Deshpande from Deshpande eye Hospital & Laser Center, Kotrud Depo, Pune., visited our department to conduct this camp on 16th January 2018

More than 200 Students including staffs were involved in this activity to take the advantage of free Eye Check up. Hence the activity was successful and was helpful to each and every member involved in this activity.

SYSTEM PROGRAMMING AND ADVANCEMENT IN COMPILER CONSTRUCTION

One week National level Short Term Training Program on “SYSTEM PROGRAMMING AND ADVANCEMENT IN COMPILER CONSTRUCTION” was organized by Department of Information Technology of Zeal college of Engineering and research during 11th to 16th Dec 2017. Total 31 participants from various engineering institutes and industries across Maharashtra state had participated in this workshop.

System programming is the activity of programming computer system software. The primary distinguishing characteristic of systems programming when compared to application programming is that application programming aims to produce software which provides services to the user directly (e.g. word processor), whereas systems programming aims to produce software and software platforms which provide services to other software, are performance constrained, or both (e.g. operating systems, computational science applications, game engines and video games, industrial automation, and software as a service applications).

The STTP is intended to explore concept and advancement in compiler construction by renowned academicians invited from IIT, NIT, State Universities etc.Resource person from industry will help faculty member to enhance their practical skill in system level programming thorough hands on seminars.

Various experts from industries and academic institutes had contributed to this workshop by their able guidance. Following topics get covered in this workshop.

Faculty Development Program

“Faculty Development Program on TE IT 2015 SEMESTER II- Syllabus Orientation”

Faculty Development Program on “ TE IT 2015 SEMESTER II- Syllabus Orientation “   was successfully conducted at Department of information Technology, Zeal College of Engineering and Research in association with BoS Information Technology Department , SPPU, Pune on  6th December 2017.

Primary Objective of this faculty development program was to explore scope and implementation methodology to faculty members ​ teaching to TE IT, by subject coordinator and subject experts of respective subjects. Subject Coordinators and experts also guided participants about expected laboratory implementation and Practical /Oral evaluation Scheme.​

This faculty development program was implemented in 6 parallel tracks for different subjects and corresponding laboratories as
1.     Computer Network and Technology and SL- IV conducted by Prof. T.A. Rane , PICT, Pune
2.     System Programming and SL V conducted by Prof.K.S.Korbu , SCOE, Pune
3.     Design and Analysis of Algorithms and SL V conducted by Dr. Madhuri Jawale , SCOE
Kopargao and Dr.Kalpana V. Metre MET,Nashik
4.     Cloud Infrastructure & Services conducted by Prof. Ranjana Dahake ,MET,Nashik
5.     Data Science & Big Data Analytic​s ​and SL-VI (DS) conducted by  Dr. Anant Bagade and
Prof.R.B.Murumkar , PICT,Pune
6.     Project Based Seminar conducted by  Dr.Nilesh Uke , PCCOE,Pune

Total 162 faculty members from various affiliated institutes of Savitribai Phule Pune University were participated in this faculty development program. The Program was inaguragued by Dr.P.N.Mahalle (BoS IT ) as chief guest and Dr. M. S. Karyakarte as guest of honor. Dr. A. M.Kate (Principal, Zeal College of Engineering & Research), Dr, S.D.Shirbahadurkar (Dean Academics ZCOER) and Head of other departments from Zeal College of Engineering and Research were also present for inauguration ceremony.

Dr.P.N.Mahalle expressed that TE IT 2015 Curriculum is designed with prime objective to meet present industry requirements. He also delivered new auto question paper generator policy adopted by Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Spectra 2k17 – The Colors of Ideas”

Department of Information Technology, Zeal College of Engineering & Research, Pune, Maharashtra, India organized Project Idea Competition

The aim of the Spectra 2k17 is to offer a good platform for students to advertise their Project Ideas in front of industry experts. The Competition Spectra 2k17 is focused to promote and exchange the opinions between the students, researchers, academicians and the industry. Another objective of Spectra 2k17 is to motivate and increase awareness among students & academicians for Make in India & Start-up India Mission of the Nation.Spectra 2k17 would provide a unique opportunity to meet leading representatives and students of various technical institutes and showcase their products for one full day.

A Chief Guest Mr. Kishor Wikhe, Executive Vice President , Capgemini had addressed the valedictory function of this event. The chief Guest focused on recent trend and new era of IT industry. Industry expert also invited for evolution of student project idea. NBA Workshop

Zeal Education Society had organized NBA Workshop on 30th and 31st October, 2017 at J W Marriot, Pune.  This workshop was very unique in itself because this workshop was focused on ABET as the origin of NBA to Blooms taxonomy, including Rubrics development, e-SAR preparation, orientation and the continuous development of and quality outcome and NBA quality assessment.
To cover all NBA facets we had eminent speakers on a single dais like ‘Father of Quality Education in India‘ Dr. Arun Nigavekar, Dr. S C Sahasrabudhe, Member Academic Advisory Committee, Dr. K Mallikharjuna Babu, Principal BMS College of Engg., Dr. Ashutosh S. Marathe Dean – Quality Assurance, VIT, Pune, Dr. P. J. Kulkarni, Deputy Director, Walchand College of Engineering, Dr. Ratnadip R. Joshi, Associate Dean Quality, MIT WPU, Pune, and Dr. R. R. Joshi, COEP Pune Member, NBA Committee and Mr. M V Kalidas VP Sales, Inpods.

There were many topics covered during the workshop and the presenters did an outstanding job of sharing their expertise.

The main aim of this workshop was to orient delegates to understand the better perspectives of NBA accreditation and the benefits of inculcating quality in organizational culture. Because, if we inculcate quality in organizational environment, we will get better outcome and this makes eSAR filling very easy.

This event was inaugurated by Prof. P. A. Joshi, In charge HOD, IT and all staff of IT department. The event was started at 9.00 am at the department initiating with Technical Quiz, which had 3 Rounds. Further the event was continued with PowerPoint Presentation and Poster presentation simultaneously.

The judges for this event was Prof. O. S. Joshi , Prof. P. A. Joshi, Prof. A. S. Chadchankar, Prof. A. V. Patil. The program was declared by the prize distribution in the presence of Head of Information Technology Prof. S. U. Kadam.

Thus, an environment of enthusiasm was experienced by every student due to active participation in all activities.

Teaching Learning Practices n Structural Analysis

“Teaching Learning Practices n Structural Analysis”

Five days Faculty Development Programon “Teaching Learning Practices in Structural Analysis” was organized by Department of Civil Engineering of Zeal college of Engineering and research during 6th to 10th June 2017.Total 35 participants from various engineering institutes and Zeal College of Engineering and Research had participated in this workshop.

The aim of this FDP is to shape up teaching learning practices and groom the faculty members about effective content delivery of structural analysis subjects. This program tenders topics like Fundamentals of physics and mechanics, Stress & strain evaluation determinate and indeterminate, Stress & strain evaluation in composite and homogeneous section, Shear and bending analysis, Analysis of indeterminate beam by Clapeyron theorem, strain energy and by Castiglianos theorem, Analysis of truss by Castiglianos 1st and 2nd theorems for lack of fit, sinking of support and temperature changes, Influence line diagrams and it’s analysis for beam & truss, Plastic analysis of steel structures, Finite difference and finite element method. This program also includes sessions related to insights of industry applications of structural analysis and software application.

Objectives:

  • To provide new insights and knowledge about the topic through close interactions/discussions with the senior Faculty Members and Experts of the respective field.
  • To study behavior and analysis of stress and strain acting on various structural members.
  • To understand industrial and software application of structural analysis.
  • To shape up teaching learning practices and grooms the faculty members about effective content delivery of structural analysis subjects.

This faculty development program was inaugurated byDr. A. B. More, Executive Council Member, ISTE,Dr. A. M. Kate principal of ZCOER, Dr. M. R. Wakchaureprofessor of Amrutwahini College of Engineering, Sangamner,Dr. Walvekar P. P. conveyerhead of civil engineering department, MS. Patil S. S. coordinator of FDP and all participants.

The faculty development program started after the Inauguration ceremony all three sessions of the 1st day was conducted by Dr. M. R. Wakchaure, Professor of Amrutwahini College of Engineering Sangamner who discussed about fundamentals concepts of physics and mechanics, Stress & strain evaluation in different sections with realistic and interesting examples. After lunch in his last session he delivered information about shear and bending analysis with different easy method those students can understand easily.

On 2nd day of FDP, 1st session was on Analysis of beams with different support conditions , 2nd session was on Analysis of truss and 3rd session is on ILD for beams with numerical examples was delivered by Dr. K. Gopi Krishna, Assistant Prof. NIT, Warangal.

On 3rd day of FDP, 1st session was on Plastic analysis of steel structures,2nd and 3rd session was on Finite difference and element method was delivered by Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary, Associate Prof. IIT, Indore. In this session different numerical examples related to concept with images were discussed along with delivering techniques.

On 4th day of FDP 1st session was on failure theories of Steel Beams/Column, 2nd session was on Torsional analysis and 3rd session was Connections delivered by Dr. M R Shiyekar Adjunct Faculty Government College of Engineering, Karad. This session was graceful with different teaching methods and use of available teaching aids for better understanding of students.

5 th dayof this FDP was delivered by Er. Prashant Patil Director, Apex consultant, Pune. On this day there was discussion about Software application.In 2nd session participants practices on ANYSIS Software and analyze shear force bending moments on different components by preparing model of G + 4 building. FDP is ended with valedictory function in which Er. Prashant Patil expressed his feelings. Votes of thank speech is given by conveyer and coordinator.

Parent Teacher’s Meeting @ Computer Engg. Department

Parent Teacher’s Meeting was organized and conducted by the Department of Computer Engineering of Zeal College of Engineering and Research on 11th August 2017.

The meeting started with the Sarswati Poojan and a welcome speech by Head of the Department (Shift I), Dr. Prasad S. Halgaonkar and Head of Department (Shift II), Dr. S. A. Ubale. Heads of Department briefed the gathering (of 60 parents) about the activities and also explained how the department offers the best possible learning environment for the students. Subsequently student’s attendance, academic performance and other special programs have been briefed to the parents.

Principal Dr. A. M. Kate, elaborated on various activities being conducted by the college for the development of students. Training and Placement Officer Prof. V. H. Barge discussed about training and placement activities being conducted. Registrar Mr. Prashant Bhalerao discussed the importance of parents monitoring for the progress of students. Program concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Prasad S. Halgaonkar, he expressed gratitude towards Executive Director Shri. Jayesh Katkar and Campus Director Dr. Sanjay Deokar, for their support and guidance.

SPECIAL STUDENTS GUIDANCE PROGRAM ON INDUSTRY EXPECTATIONS

Special students guidance program on industry expectations was conducted by Department of Mechanical Engineering and Training & Placement Cell on 7th July, 2017.The Vice President Operations, Mr. Kanhaiyya Gorane from Alfa Laval Inc. Richmond, Virginia was invited for this programme. The program started with the introduction of the chief guest and his journey from mechanical engineering student to Vice President Operations of Alfa Laval Inc Richmond, Virginia.
The program was attended by third year and final year mechanical engineering students. The main objective of the program was to provide a platform, where students and industry persons interact to know the expectation of each other.
Mr. Kanhaiyya highlighted the importance of interpersonal skills, application of knowledge, time management and resource management in the growth of any industry. He also focused on the core issues such as technical skill, ability to analyze the real life problems, industry & its impact on the environment, etc.
After program, Mr. Kanhaiyya visited the campus specially T&P Cell, skill development center, MQC lab, automobile excellence center, 3D printer, Machining excellence center and Welding excellence center in mechanical engineering department. He appreciated the efforts of the department in bridging the industry institute gap.
